Scholarship
Grant of Scholarships for higher education is a key activity under Gowravam
Foundation education initiatives. Scholarships are granted through an objective and
transparent process to needy students from socio-economically disadvantaged
homes studying in Government schools.
OBJECTI VES
- To improve access to higher education for intelligent and hardworking children from socio- economically disadvantaged homes to pursue higher education in (Engineering, Medicine, Graduation, Post Graduation in Science subjects, vocational skills, etc.)
- To mentor the scholarship grantees to develop as confident and competent professionals
- To support the acquiring of communication and leadership skills to scholarship grantees
- To facilitate exposure to relevant experience, tools, and knowledge.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Secure at least 7.5 GPA or 75% marks in pre-admission eligibility test/course
- Secure confirmed admission to a higher education institution
- Have above 85% attendance (for students studying 2 nd year onwards)
- Family Income Certificate (less than Rs.3,00,000 per annum)
Students should submit the following details:
a. Whether secured the seat under counselling or management (B category) seat?
b. Whether covered under Government fee reimbursement and the extent of fee reimbursement received against the total fee to be paid per year
c. Whether receiving any other scholarship. If so, the amount thereof.
- Should attend the Maithri – interactive program for scholarship grantees with GF Board
members, eminent personalities, etc.
PROCESS OF TRANSFER OF GRANT AMOUNT
- Once the decision is made about granting a scholarship, the student will be informed.
- The scholarship amount will be directly transferred either by a crossed cheque or online to the bank account of the Institute/college where the student is admitted/ studying.
- Under no circumstances will the grant amount be transferred to the personal bank account of the candidate or the parent/guardian, either for onward payment to the institution/college or to reimburse amounts already paid.
